Overview

Artificial intelligence tools β€” from ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to automated document review and customer service bots β€” are already being used in your workplace. Sometimes with approval. Often without.

This workshop is designed in partnership with the Centre for Legal & Business Studies (CLBS) to help businesses to:

  • Understand the legal risks of AI in day-to-day operations

  • Put in place internal policies that work in practice

  • Train teams to use AI productively and responsibly

The workshop is practical, interactive, and tailored for legal, compliance, HR, and tech teams.

Hon. Gavin Glover SC

Attorney General of Mauritius

Gavin Glover SC is the Attorney General of Mauritius and a Senior Counsel with decades of experience at the Bar. Widely respected for his legal acumen and clarity of thought, he has appeared in numerous landmark cases and held key leadership roles within the legal profession. As Attorney General, he plays a central role in shaping the legislative and regulatory landscape of Mauritius. His keynote address will provide insight into Mauritius' policy direction on artificial intelligence and the Government’s vision for responsible innovation.

Hon. Dr Avinash Ramtohul

Minister of Information Technology, Communication & Innovation

Dr Ramtohul has over 27 years of experience in the ICT sector, with a career that has spanned across the Middle East and Africa. For the past decade, he has held leadership roles as Managing Director for global IT companies based in Mauritius, helping to shape the country’s digital trajectory. He holds an impressive set of academic credentials, including an LLM focused on Artificial Intelligence. As Minister, Dr. Ramtohul brings a multidisciplinary and forward-thinking perspective to the way we integrate technology, law, and innovation into national policy.
