Deshna forms part of the disputes resolution team. She regularly represents clients on a broad spectrum of contentious matters before various courts of Mauritius, including before the Revenue Tribunal (formerly the Assessment Review Committee) where she represents clients in appeals lodged against determinations under prescribed enactments. In addition to her litigation practice, Deshna frequently assists as junior counsel in arbitrations concerning complex construction disputes. Her employment practice involves contract reviews, advisory matters, and assisting employers on internal investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
Deshna also has a keen interest in Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT). She is deeply involved in the preparation of compliance manuals and advises clients on compliance issues, ensuring that their commercial agreements are valid, enforceable and aligned with their operational objectives.
